There are many common injuries such as hamstring and groin strains which can be strongly linked or even caused by lower back problems. Poor flexibility and improper stretching is a major factor in almost all injuries.
Regular yoga and pilates can help to prevent a range of injuries and even improve performance. Most if not all professional teams now have yoga sessions as part of their training.
Many injuries can heal more quickly with the right treatment and stretching exercises. Many injuries can be caused by something you are unaware of and they will not heal until the problem is rectified.
